Physical and educational Facilities:
NVI is on a 17- acre site with established infrastructure which include: 30 classrooms, 12 workshops, 15 staff houses, 2 office blocks, main-hall which accommodates over 1,000 students, the classrooms have the capacity to sit over 500 students and the workshops can accommodate over 340 students at a time and the dormitories have a capacity to accommodate over 1,000 students.
INTAKE CRITERIA
- Primary seven to senior three (P7-S3) with age limit 14 - 18 years, admitted for one year on a Basic Skills Training Course
- Senior four (S4) leavers are admitted for 2 academic years including Industrial Training of 4months in a recommended industry
- S6 + certificate holders
- Modular ……………
Scholarships:
NVI has limited scholarships for the neediest youth, preferably orphans, and not above 18years of age. Candidates are preferably of P.7 to S.3 dropouts. One must have a letter from the Local Council (LC1& LC11) and /or a letter from a sending organisation. Students in this category get every thing free from the institute after one is considered to benefit.
For sponsorship

Academic & Disciplinary Committee :
NVI has a strong academic & disciplinary committee comprising of members of the NVI Board of Governors and some members of NVI management Team.
Finance Control Mechanism: NVI also has a Finance and Planning committee comprising of members of the NVI Board of Governors and some members of NVI Management Team.
At the end of every financial year external auditors are contracted to audit the books and report is written.
The Management Team:
This comprises of the Director, Dean of studies, Accountant, Administrative Assistant, Warden, Christian Social worker and the Community Based Training Coordinator.
COST SHARING : With this program students meet part of their training costs. These may be either day scholars or even boarders. Although majority of the students apply directly others have been sponsored by different organizations like Goal Uganda(Bugriri), ADRA-Uganda, PLAN International (Kamuli),Compassion International, to mention but a few.
APPLYING & SELECTION
Applications are received not later than August and interviews are held in October/November. The Academic year begins in February. Candidates should regard themselves unsuccessful if they receive no communication from the institute by March of the following year.
Training Program /Duration
The institute runs on both semester & term system as indicated below. A term is 3moths whereas a semester is 6months. |
